Terri Clark has reached out to her fans during a personally difficult time. The singer shared the unfortunate news that her mother's cancer has progressed, and she asked fans for their prayers in a letter posted on her website.

She said, "This won't be a very long post, as I only wanted to ask that you please keep my Mother, and our family in your prayers at this time. We just got some devastating CT scan results after she had been admitted to the hospital, as a result of on-going pain, and discomfort. The scans showed considerable progression of the disease in a short span of time. The doctors have done all they can at this point.

We haven't given up all hope and still believe in miracles but this is, and will continue to be an extremely difficult time. Thanks for your positive energy, prayers, and well wishes..."

Terri's mother, Lynn Clark, was diagnosed with a rare cancer of the pancreas in 2007.

Terri's latest single is "A Million Ways To Run".
