Kenny Chesney is bringing his summer tour experience to the big screen
Kenny Chesney is bringing his summer tour experience to the big screen. Kenny Chesney: Summer In 3-D gives fans a whole new perspective on what USA Today has deemed the biggest tour of the year. Other major acts who have released such movies include the Rolling Stones and U2.
Kenny says, "I'd seen U2's movie and was blown away. It was like something I'd never seen, and I wondered what would happen if we tried to capture some of what was going on like that... How would it look, because this is more straight up... When we did, everyone who saw the footage agreed, and we started taking this project very seriously."
Kenny Chesney: Summer In 3-D was shot over the course of six nights in five cities -- Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Seattle, Boston and Indianapolis -- with 22 3-D camera rigs. The film will be in theaters in April of next year.
Kenny is nominated for three trophies at Wednesday's (November 11th) CMA Awards -- Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist and Vocal Event with Mac McAnally for "Down the Road."
Kenny will perform "I'm Alive" with Dave Matthews during the live broadcast of the CMA Awards.
